Dr. Abey’s inspiration behind the Living Wisdom Meditation cards is from his book “60 Verses” which has a beautiful story of its own.

The original Book of Wisdom (which later became Dr. Abey’s 60 Verses book) is what Dr. Abey spoke in July of 2005 in a 3-day seminar in Schloss Velen, Germany. It was this seminar and the powerful message of Dr. Abey’s words that helped raise funds for the restoration of Sri Lanka’s most sacred monument, the Maha Stupa in Anuradhapura.

When there was no one else to think of the Maha Stupa and the restoration that was needed, that became Dr. Abey’s goal and determination. He had a great vision in mind but lacked the money to do so. He started to awaken his mind, energy and wisdom to complete the challenge. He was well-supported by all his friends and patients in Germany. Everything was in Divine order. The whole process was a miracle!

Do you know what a Stupa is? A Stupa is a symbol of mind and life.

The establishment of the Maha Stupa in Sri Lanka was the success of health and mind power under the Leadership of King Weera Gamunu from 161-137 B.C. The largest Relict of Gautama Buddha is protected within the Maha Stupa. This monument is as large as the third biggest pyramid on the Giza Plateau.

2006 marked the 2550th birthday of Buddha. By that time, the over 2000 year-old Buddhist monument was in much need of renovation. At that time, all local and international organizations were concentrated on the relief effort after a tsunami had devastated the area in 2004.

In 2006, Dr. Abey achieved his goal by donating all that he had earned and collected to restore the Maha Stupa for the 2550th Birthday of Gautama Buddha.

Now he shares merits with all.
